Monday Musings

There's just something about Michelle Williams. I've only ever seen one of her movies so for me it's not her acting skills that impress me; it's her presence as a woman who is clearly self-possessing. Viola is one of my new favorite actresses and the fact that she wore her hair natural to the Academy Awards made such a statement. I love these women's confidence and sense of style.

Day & Night Socialite on Pinterest

Hey Socialites! Just wanted to remind you all to follow Day & Night Socialite on Pinterest. If you haven't joined yet, you're definitely missing out. It is just another social media site but the good thing about Pinterest as compared to Tumblr is that you can organize things you like better without having to create a separate blog. I consider it an online vision board which is just perfect for me since I spend so much time discovering new things from around the web. Try it at your own risk however; you may find your self pinning for hours.

Here are some of my favorite pins so far.

What to do This Weekend

It's finally Friday, socialites! Let's make the most of this 3-day weekend. Thank God for Presidents! Whether you're looking for some laid back Linsanity or frilly brunch event, here are the Day & Night Socialite's top happenings for the weekend.

Friday February 17, 2012
Mardi Gras at 230 5th. If you've never been to 230 5th, it's a nice club with great views of the city. The doormen can be somewhat flaky and selective so my best advice is to get there early and avoid the pretentious treatment. Details about the party here.

Monday Musings

This week has been full of inspiration and things to muse over. From the Grammy's last night to the untimely passing of Whitney Houston and NYFW I am just inspired and in love with beautiful things.

Whitney! I don't need to say more. Everyone knows how much she meant to the world. I choose to remember her for her beauty, her gift, and love of the Lord. Whitney we love you.

Evolution, The Green Room Salon is by far the best hair salon I have ever been to. The service is always efficient and top quality and not to mention my hair stylist, Natasha Paul is undeniably talented. The first time she did my hair in 2009 it was so gorgeous and flawless, I cried. She is the only hair stylist that I have ever had that can style my hair perfectly meaning I walk out looking like I belong on the cover of Essence EVERY. TIME.
